I am absolutely blown away by the quality of the submissions we received for the 2007 iTest Video Contest. (For more information on this side contest we ran this year alongside the actual 2007 iTest exam, go here.)
While no decision will be announced regarding the winner of this contest until the November 1 Nationwide Awards Announcement, I figured we could go ahead and post the four submissions we received here in the iTest Blog!
If you are out there reading this, and had anything to do with the conception or production of any of these videos, you should give yourself a hand. These are amazing. We look forward to using these videos to communicate with our sponsors (and potential sponsors!) the overall level of enthusiasm and passion that's out there for iTest events. These videos deservedly will be publicized heavily.
Also, the judging of these videos will begin immediately, but we're not going to disclose the exact process of determining the winner until November 1.
Without further ado, in randomized order, the YouTube version of each video...
1) "All Around the Table"
2) "Something to do with Apple?"
3) "Kitty Knows The Real Answer"
4) "To The Fifth Power Rangers"

Hi. I'm the maker of the second video. I'm very surprised even four people did the video sub competition. I've found that many people at my highschool have also taken the math part of the competition. I'm also shocked by the quality of the videos. as well. I think the fourth is probably one of the better ones to use commercially simply because it looks nice and is very funny. I also like the graphic effects in the first one with the itest word. My main regret is that my video, which was originally a swf file turned out very grainy and off-sync when I converted it to an avi and put it on youtube. I was considering putting it on a flash hosting website but I bent the rules enough when I emailed an avi...
er - swf. I mean. Anyway. Nice to have tried out in this competition and to have found out there is such a large math enthusiast community. I just switched to different computers so I'm the guy who posted above.
One last post. Will the videos be judged based on the youtube submissions?
I never entered the competition to go after the gift card like my video suggests. I did it mainly for the fun and also with a distant hope that it would be significant to say on a resume for whatever I apply to that I tried to help promote a free math competition... because I like math... Does anyone else feel this way? Should I note this on anything I apply to in the future and if so, how?
Also, one last thing. If you won, what would you do with the gift card? I was thinking that if I was the only one who entered the competition, and I won, I would try to donate the card to the Princeton Math Competition 2007 to use as a contest prize. I'm not so much for shopping.
